One last mow

There's something great about mowing the lawn in mid-October ... for one thing, it means you're not scraping ice or shoveling snow.

    1. Not at all--we live art the crest of a hill, and it gets very windy here. If the lawn is mowed down enough, most of the leaves either gather in corners, ready for the compost heap--or blow onto the neighbor's lawn.

    1. Ah, but if you keep the lawn mowed down enough, the wind eventually blows most of the leaves onto the neighbor's unmown lawn!
