When we got home, a mouse had made a lovely home in our stove. I am happy for them to live in the garden or the shed and will even accommodate them in the garage so why do they always want to invade my space. Each time it happens I spend weeks catching the pesky things and returning them to the great outdoors, but their numbers (in the house) continue to increase to the point where I have to ring an exterminator, then I spend weeks hating myself and the whole sorry cycle starts all over again. I think the only answer is for me to live in the garden and let the mice have the house.
