Short Story shortens temper

I spent a few hours yesterday trying to whittle out the fat in a 3,635 word SF short story.

It's now 3,703 words.

*sigh*

    That's how mine always turned out. That's why I gave up on short stories!

      I've been going for the hat trick: working on novels, novellas and short stories. But in the end, I think my heart will always be in longer works.
