That's no moon ...

You have to take a trail to reach the old pier on Lake Lonidaw at Pokagon State Park, so it has an isolated feeling. As I stood there, suddenly a massive shape moved the pads right by the pier. Isn't this the place in the movie when the guy looking down gets his head bitten off?

It was a turtle. I didn't get my head bitten off, but it was the biggest turtle I've ever seen in the wild. I was too startled to get capture it on camera, but I'm pretty sure it could have carried the pier off on its back.
