No "Touch the Truck" at Albion F.D. Block Party

 A correction to the events scheduled for this coming Saturday's Albion Fire Department block party: There will NOT be a "touch the truck" opportunity during the event, although everything else will be the same. We apologize for that, but hope to still see everyone there.

 

 

Serving Up Fish and Tenderloin Again This Year ... who's hungry?

 If you should be near Albion during the Chain O’ Lakes Festival, drop in on the fish and tenderloin fry at the fire station Wednesday, June 3rd. This has been an annual tradition for many decades, with proceeds going to equipment and training for the Albion Fire Department.

(Indiana, for those of you near other Albions. I've been past the Albion firehouses in Illinois and Michigan, for example.)

It’s from 4:30-7:00 p.m., with a price of $15 for adults and $10 for children 8 and under, and it’s darned good food for a good cause. Way better than what they would give you across the street at the jail. I assume.

 

The AFD is at 210 Fire Station Drive, on the east end of town.  (It's traditional, when a town has a Fire Station Drive, to build the fire station there.)

 

Imagine this, but full of people.

Meanwhile, ask for a copy of Smoky Days and Sleepless Nights, a Century or So With the Albion Fire Department. You can still get the Albion Fire Department's history for just $9.99. Live a little, throw in the penny ... if you can find one. After all, it took me 25 years to write.

Okay, so I wasn't writing the entire 25 years.

Radio Red Is On the Front Burner

 Emily has sent me the working copy for the new Radio Red, so I'm pausing the Hoosier Hysterical sequal writing so I can get the other book edited. It used to look like this:

 But we got the rights to the story back, not the cover, so you'll see it next as something new.

Meanwhile I'll continue to slip in some promotion here and there, because writers gotta eat. I won't make it obvious, though.

On a whim, notorious Hollywood party-boy Ian Grant decides to drive to tornado-ravaged Hurricane, Indiana to plan his estranged sister's wedding. Not that he bothered to tell his sister ... or their movie star father, or his sister's straight-as-an-arrow cop fiancé, or anyone else.

The only other person who seems to know is trying to kill him.

The Notorious Ian Grant isn't a sequel to Storm Chaser and Storm Squalls, so much as a spinoff into the idea of what would happen when a B-list West Coast Celebrity gets plunked into a flyover state and has to straighten up—or else. He soon finds himself under the supervision of Fran, a beautiful police detective who thinks Ian's arrival could only bring disaster.

As if Hurricane hasn’t had disasters enough.

 

 Nor will I mention that, say, The Notorious Ian Grant can be enjoyed without reading the first book, Storm Chaser, but since Storm Chaser is only 99 cents as an e-book, why not get them both? We even have print copies of both here, along with Radio Red and all the others. Maybe I'll mention that next time.
